A radiologist and the head of the Sword Swallowers’ Association International surveyed 46 sword swallowers about injuries.
Sore throats were common, especially while learning or when performers were distracted. Serious injuries happened with multiple swords or unusual swords. The advice is roughly “one at a time, please concentrate”.
Please do not multitask while swallowing swords.
