Do chickens think you’re pretty?

Chickens prefer beautiful humans

Chickens trained to recognise faces preferred the same faces that humans rated as attractive.

Ig Nobel 2003

Researchers trained chickens to react to an average female face, then showed them a range of faces. The chickens’ preferences matched those of human volunteers surprisingly well.

The point: our sense of beauty might come from very basic ways that brains process images, not anything uniquely human.

the verdict

A chicken has judged your face and it has opinions.
