Can sheep recognise celebrities?
Sheep recognize familiar and unfamiliar human faces from two-dimensional images
Sheep learned to pick out photos of four celebrities on a screen, including from tilted angles.
At the University of Cambridge, eight sheep were trained to recognise four celebrities (including Barack Obama and Emma Watson) from photos on computer screens, earning a food treat for choosing correctly.
They picked the famous faces well above chance, still managed when the photos were tilted, and could even spot their own handler. Sheep: surprisingly good at fan meet-and-greets.
They may all look alike to us, but we don’t all look alike to them.
