Can pigs fly, according to internet engineers?

The Twelve Networking Truths

An April Fools’ internet document listing twelve hard-won truths about networks, including that pigs can fly with enough thrust.

Released on 1 April, this short document lists twelve “fundamental truths” of computer networking, written with the solemn tone of real engineering standards.

They include “It Has To Work”, the reminder that no amount of pushing will make light go faster, and the observation that “With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.” Engineers still quote it, mostly with a weary smile.

the verdict

Twelve truths, zero exceptions, one flying pig.
