Scientists took a 3D-printed kidney on Disney’s Big Thunder Mountain to see if roller coasters shake out kidney stones.

Patients kept telling a doctor their kidney stones passed after riding a particular Disney roller coaster. So he built a silicone model of a kidney, filled it with stones and urine, and put it in a backpack.
They rode the coaster many times. Sitting at the back worked best. A lot of science involves suffering; this was not that kind of science.
