Does the colour of your mug change how a drink tastes?
The influence of the color of the cup on consumers’ perception of a hot beverage
Hot chocolate seems to taste more chocolatey when it’s served in an orange or cream-coloured cup.
Volunteers tasted the very same hot chocolate from cups that were identical except for their colour: white, cream, orange or red.
Drinks from the orange and cream cups were rated as more chocolatey. Same drink, different mug, different mood.
Your favourite mug really might make the tea taste better.
